Funeral services for Billy Leon Duncan, of Spencerville, Okla., were held July 8, 2026 at Spencerville Community Church. Billy passed away July 5, 2026, at the age of 88.
Billy Leon Duncan was born on Dec. 11, 1937 in Fort Towson, Okla., the son of Wilbur F. Duncan and Minnie Mae (Scarborough) Duncan. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Orrin “Matt” Duncan; brothers: Lester Wayne Duncan and Wilbur F. Duncan, Jr. and sisters: Geneva Hudson, June James and Delores Bland.
Billy lived all of his life in Spencerville and worked in the logging woods and oilfields. He married Betty Sue Wyatt on Aug. 6, 1971. Billy was on the church board of the Spencerville Community Church and was a founder of Spencerville Volunteer Fire Department. Billy enjoyed hunting, fishing and piddling with old tractors and vehicles. He liked to show his love for his family by pestering and playing pranks on them. Billy loved the Lord and enjoyed playing the banjo in church. Above all else, Billy loved spending time with his family and friends.
Billy is survived by his wife, Betty Sue Duncan of the home; daughters: Rhonda Gooding of Grant, Okla., Deborah Wyatt of Valliant, Okla., Jeni Fresonke of Minnesota and Suzie Babcock of Spencerville; sons: Greg Duncan of Valliant and Trent Jenkins of Michigan; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren and sister, Ester Jane Cooper of Swink, Okla., along with a host of other family, friends and loved ones.
Interment followed the service at Spencerville Cemetery with Bro. Tony Hudson and Bro. Jeff McCreary officiating, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
