Bobby Joe Johnson, Sr., of Hugo, Okla., was born on March 29, 1976 in Hugo, the son of Jimmy Himes, Jr. and Audrey Kay Johnson. Bobby passed away Jan. 2, 2024, at the age of 47. He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy and brother, Jeremy “Hash” Himes.

Bobby was a lifelong resident of the McCurtain/Choctaw County area. He worked many years as a machinist and was known by his family as a “Jack of all trades.” If something needed to be fixed, Bobby would always find a way to get whatever it was working again. Bobby loved being outdoors and working with his hands. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and most of all, spending time with his friends and family. Bobby was a jokester and often showed his love for people by picking on them. His passing has left a void in his family’s lives but his memory will live on through them. Bobby is survived by his loving family; children: Sierra Timms and husband of Ringold, Okla., Kylee Johnson of Broken Bow, Okla., and Bobby Joe Johnson, Jr. of Ringold; three grandchildren; wife, Krystal Sipes-Johnson of Hugo; mother, Audrey Johnson of Idabel, Okla.; a grandmother, along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other family, friends and loved ones. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
