Bonnie Brown
Bonnie Brown, a beacon of love and faith, passed away peacefully on Feb. 25, 2026 in Hugo, Okla. Born on March 12, 1943 in Sweetwater, Texas, Bonnie’s journey through life was marked by her unwavering kindness and the joy she brought to those around her. She was a woman whose presence was a comforting embrace to all who knew her.
Bonnie’s life was a testament to the power of love and dedication. She married the love of her life, Charlie Dwain Brown, on Feb. 27, 1960 in Cisco, Texas. Together, they built a life rich in love and laughter, a home that was a haven for 65 years until Dwain’s passing in 2021. Bonnie’s legacy is carried on through her adoring family, including her two sons: Charlie (Todd) Brown and Grady (Traig) Brown; her daughter, Jeanna Dale; her five grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.
She served as a bookkeeper for various organizations, including First United Bank, Cattleman’s Livestock, and Red River Coop. Her colleagues knew her as a woman of integrity and warmth, someone who could always be counted on for support and wise counsel.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Grady Walker and Bonnie (Blair) Walker; her sister, Jean Jessup; her beloved husband, Dwain Brown; and two grandchildren.
Celebration of Life services were held Saturday, Feb. 28, 2026 in the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Hugo, under the direction of Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home.
