Funeral services for Dale Jean (Elliott) Burton, of Soper, Okla., were held at 10 a.m. Nov. 10, 2023 at Miller & Miller Funeral Home. Dale passed away Nov. 7, 2023, at the age of 76.

Dale Jean (Elliott) Burton was born on Nov. 17, 1946 in Price, Utah, the daughter of Jim Elliott and Evelyn “June” (Estes) Elliott. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Steven Ray Burton and brothers: Randy Wayne Elliott and James Cameron Elliott.

Dale lived in Soper, Okla., all her life and graduated from Soper High School. She then went on to become a dedicated Registered Nurse and was a mentor to many nurses during her career –– she even trained her daughter. Dale married her loving husband, James Ray Burton on May 17, 1964 in Greenville, Ark., and together they built a life of love surrounding their children. Dale was a selfless woman, always thinking of others and she was always thinking ahead and liked things to be planned out. She ran a tight ship and was a top-notch housekeeper. She wasn’t afraid to tell you how it was.

Dale had many hobbies and interests including gardening, canning, dancing, singing but cooking was her love language. But her greatest passion was her family, she was always there for them. She would work nights when the kids were young so she could be home with them during the day. Dale loved getting her family together and was there for them with whatever they needed. Her love and selflessness will forever be in the hearts of her family.

Dale is survived by her husband, James Ray Burton; daughter, Kimberly Howser and husband of Soper; two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; sister, Linda Kay Wells and late husband of Durant, Okla., along with many other family, friends and loved ones.

Interment followed the service at Soper Cemetery with the Rev. Bob Houser officiating, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
