Dedith Jean Dozier
Funeral services for Dedith Jean Dozier, of Fort Towson, Okla., were held Aug. 19, 2026 at Fort Towson First Baptist Church. Dedith passed away Aug. 16, 2026, at the age of 92.
Dedith Jean Dozier was born on Dec. 28, 1933 in Chillicothe, Texas, the daughter of Aubrey James Johnston and Florence Lois (Golden) Johnston. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Don Ralph Dozier; son, Don Ralph Dozier, Jr. and a grandson.
Jean had lived in Fort Towson for the past 37 years. She married her beloved husband, Don Dozier, on April 17, 1953 and they spent 57 wonderful years together. Jean spent her working years serving others in a variety of roles. She worked for Bell Phone System for five years and later retired from the Irving School System after 11 years in the lunchroom. She also worked for a short time as office manager at Ben Brown Funeral Home. Jean concluded her career with American Airlines, retiring as a reservation agent after years of dedicated service.
Jean’s life was equally rich in church and community involvement. She was a member of the Fort Towson First Baptist Church where her faith remained an important part of her life and was a lifetime member of the DAV Auxillary where she supported veterans and their families. Jean served three years working on elections at Sawyer and volunteered for five years at the Sawyer Senior Center on Wednesdays, offering her time and companionship to others. Jean also served as secretary of Friends of the Fort for three years and was on the Fort Towson Cemetery Board for eight years. Jean loved the Lord, her church, her family, her friends and her home. She enjoyed the life God gave her and lived her life with grace, strength and a gentle spirit that touched everyone who knew her.
Jean is survived by her friends, family and her beloved companion dog.
Interment followed the service at Fort Towson Cemetery with Bro. Doug McClure officiating, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
