Delores Beaver Canant passed away on Aug. 9, 2026, at home at the age of 86.

Family visitation will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 13, 2026 at Prater- Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 14, 2026 at the funeral home.

Delores was born on Nov. 3, 1939, in Valliant, Okla., to Jim and Virginia Beaver. She grew up in the Valliant area and graduated with the class of 1957.

Delores met Winfred Canant in 1958, and they were married on Feb. 12, 1959. Together they raised three children: Cheryl, Jimmy and Doug.

After her children were in school, Delores worked for Hugo Public Schools as a secretary until her retirement. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed spending time outdoors, tending to her garden and flowerbeds. She loved hosting in her home and would try to feed anyone who came over. She was a faithful member of the Church of Christ in Hugo. Delores is survived by her three children; one daughter, Cheryl Ousley and husband, Allan of Hugo; two sons: Jimmy Canant and wife, Theresa of McAlester, and Doug Canant and wife, Stacey of Durant; five grandchildren: Ashley Ousley, Colby Ousley and wife, Mariah, Evan Canant, Kassie Canant, and Cole Canant; and two great-grandchildren: Poppy Ousley and Collin Ousley.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Jim and Virgina Beaver; her husband, Winfred Canant, and her sisters: Betty Cantwell and Olaree Pierce.
