Funeral services for Elmer Snow Pierce, of Boswell, Okla., will be held at 2 p.m. Jan. 28, 2021 at New Life Family Church in Boswell.

“For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain,” Phillipians 1:21. Heaven’s gate opened and welcomed him in. On Jan. 24,2021, Elmer Snow Pierce departed this life and went to his eternal home, at the age of 93. He forever joined the love of his life, Martha and grandson, Jacob “Snowbird.” Elmer was born on Nov. 18,1927 in Boswell, Okla. He spent his childhood years in Boswell and then served in the United States Army and was one of the few remaining World War II Veterans.

Elmer married the love of his life, Martha on June 11,1948. They lived in Oklahoma City for a time where he worked at Capital Steel and Iron. Upon returning to Boswell, he owned and operated a service station with his brother, Pat. He was also the proud owner of E&M carwash for many years. He drove the bus and was a truancy officer for Boswell Public School until he retired. Elmer considered going to church at the Jesus Name Pentecostal Church where he served as an elder, of utmost importance to him. He spent many hours on his John Deere tractor taking care of his farm. Elmer loved his cattle and horses. On any given morning you could find him at the coffee shop enjoying coffee and conversation with his friends. He loved to eat out, especially at the Fish Fry and Dixie Café.

Elmer is survived by his son, Mike Pierce and significant other, Wendy Holder of Boswell; daughter, Lana Casey and husband, David of Boswell; brothers: Pat Pierce of Boswell and Sam “Skeeter” Pierce of Shawnee, Okla.; grandchildren: Shonda Casey, Mary Hitchcock, Amy Pierce, Michael Bryan Pierce, Patrick Pierce, Courtney Anderson, Joe Pierce and Jessie Pierce, along with numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of friends. A special thank you and acknowledgement to caregiver, Sarah Stone.

Elmer was preceded in death by his parents, Lou and Sam Pierce; brothers: Dude, Leroy, MD, James, Joe, Tom, Tim and sister, Sally; wife, Martha; grandson, Jacob and niece, Charlene Ross.

“I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in me shall never die.” John 11:25-26.

Interment will follow the service at Restland Cemetery in Boswell with Bro. Larry Flenniken and Bro. Rick Austin officiating, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
