Emily Neal Ayers

Funeral services for Emily Neal Ayers, of Hugo, Okla., were held Monday, May 18, 2026 at Miller & Miller Funeral Home.

Emily Neal Ayers, 73, went to his heavenly home on May 13, 2026, passing on from this life in Hugo. He was born on April 26, 1953, in Bluff, Okla., and was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Ayers; a granddaughter and brothers: Ricky Ayers and Benny Ayers.

Emily was a lifelong resident of the Bluff and Hugo community. He graduated from Grant High School in 1971. Emily later proudly joined the United States Army where he was a medical corpsman. He later returned to the Hugo area in 1974 after his honorable discharge. Emily went on to receive his Associate’s degree from Paris Junior College.

Emily married his loving wife, Dorothy Louise Jeffers, on July 19, 1975 in Hugo. Together, they made their home in Choctaw County and Emily began working as a ranch hand. He worked for several ranches throughout the next 15-plus years and it was something he truly enjoyed. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing the guitar and was very talented on the drums. Emily even had a band with his brothers in his younger years. Above all else, he loved being with his family. Emily is survived by his loving family; children: Mattew Ayers, Steven Ayers, Sylvia Williams and spouse all of Hugo; a grandchild; sister, Etta Holman of Bluff, along with a host of other family and loved ones.

Burial followed the service at New Bluff Cemetery, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
