Body

Emmanuel “Manny” Hobbs was born on March 11, 1975 in Talihina, Okla., to Douglas G. Hobbs, Sr. and Delilah Dianne (Johnson) Hobbs. He entered his eternal rest on Feb. 18, 2021 in Tulsa, Okla.

Manny was first and foremost an amazing dad and husband. His three boys were his entire world. He never felt more happiness or pride than when looking at his sons. His boys would tell you, “He isn’t just our dad, but our best friend.”

Emmanuel had a great personality that came along with a quirky sense of humor. He walked around with a serious face, but if you happened to be the recipient of one of his smiles, it was quite amazing.

Emmanuel was very proud of his Choctaw heritage and loved participating in, teaching, and displaying traditional Choctaw dancing.

Emmanuel was a wonderful family man and friend. He will be missed by all who knew him. His family gives thanks and finds peace in the knowledge that while we may not have him with us on this Earth, we know that Heaven promises us a time to be with him once more.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents: Woodrow and Gladys Hobbs, and Lorean and Peter “Jameo” Johnson.

Emmanuel leaves behind to cherish his memory: his wife, Debbie Hobbs of the home; parents: Douglas and Delilah Hobbs of Rattan, Okla.; children: Zac Tyrel Hita Hobbs of Tulsa, Andrew Jemison Nita Hobbs of San Antonio, Texas, and Jacob Joatham Hiloha Hobbs of Rattan; brother, Douglas Hobbs, Jr. of McAlester, Okla.; sisters: Amanda Zaccaro and husband, Richard of McAlester, H. Lynette Vaughan and husband, Keven of Warrensburg, Mo.

Viewing for Emmanuel was held at Serenity Funeral Service on Sunday, Feb. 21, 2021. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Jones Academy, 909 Jones Academy Rd, Hartshorne, OK 74547, https://jonesacademy.org/donate/.
