Geneva Bunger-Walters
Funeral services for Geneva Bunger-Walters, of Hugo, Okla., were held Dec. 22, 2025 at Miller & Miller Funeral Home. Geneva passed away Oct. 15, 2025, at the age of 74.
Geneva (Allen) Bunger- Walters was born on Nov. 4, 1951 in Paris, Texas, the daughter of Harvey J. Allen and Donie “Dovey” (White) Stevens. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Joe Thomas Bunger; daughter, Debbie Dunn; and brother, James Allen.
Geneva was a lifelong resident of Choctaw County. Geneva quickly learned the value of caring for others — a trait that would become the cornerstone of her life. Her nurturing spirit was evident to all who knew her, as she always placed the needs of her family above her own. Geneva’s home was an extension of her heart, where the doors were always open, the kitchen always bustling, and the laughter never far away. She was known for her beans and cornbread, and her amazing breakfast that she would make for her family. If she wasn’t in the kitchen, you could find her shopping and she especially loved her trips to Wal-Mart.
Geneva’s legacy is one of love and dedication. She was the embodiment of the word “loving,” a trait that was felt in her every action and seen in the lives of those she touched. Her absence will be profoundly felt, but the memories of her kindness, her warmth, and her unwavering support will continue to inspire and comfort her family and friends.
Geneva is survived by her husband, Alan Walters of the home; son, Paul Smith; daughter, Pam; a granddaughter; four grandsons, along with a host of family friends and loved ones.
Edwin Finley officiated the service, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
