Jasper Troy William Jackson, Sr.
Jasper Troy William Jackson, Sr., known affectionately to friends and family as Troy Jackson, passed away peacefully on Oct. 24, 2024 in Paris, Texas, at the age of 81. Born on Aug. 29, 1943, in Belzoni, Okla., Troy was a man whose hands were as strong and capable as his heart was gentle and full.
Troy’s life was marked by the love and devotion he had for his family. He is survived by his son, Troy Jackson, Jr.; his beloved grandchildren; his brothers: Benny Jackson and Thomas Jackson; and his close companion.
Troy was a cherished bonus father and a doting bonus grandfather. He was preceded in death by his late wife, Alice Elaine Jackson, whose memory remained a guiding light in his life.
A proud graduate of his local high school, Troy went on to become a highly skilled pipe welder. His craftsmanship was not only his livelihood but his passion. He spent many years as part of the construction crew at Campbell Soup in Paris, Texas, where his work ethic and expertise were well-known and respected. Troy was also an active participant in his work community, always ready to lend a hand or share his knowledge with others.
As we say goodbye to Troy Jackson, we celebrate a life well-lived and honor a spirit that will forever be a part of us. His laughter, wisdom, and the warmth of his embrace will be cherished memories that will bring comfort in the days to come. Troy’s life story is one of unwavering commitment to those he loved and a reminder of the beauty that can be found in the simple acts of being there for one another.
We bid farewell to a remarkable man, a loving father, grandfather, brother, companion, and friend. Jasper Troy William Jackson, Sr. will be remembered not just for the life he lived but for the countless ways he enriched the lives of others. His journey on earth may have ended, but his influence and the love he shared will continue to echo through generations.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2024 at Mt. Olive Funeral Home in Hugo, which was in charge of the arrangements.
