Funeral services for Jessie Ervin Priddy will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, 2021 in the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home Chapel with Mike Merritt officiating. Burial will follow at the Fort Towson Cemetery. Jessie went to be with the Lord on Jan. 24, 2021 at his home.

Jessie was born on April 2, 1961 to Ervin and Elsie (Ridenour) Priddy in Fort Towson, Okla. He had lived in this area all of his life and was of the Pentecostal faith. Jessie married Melanie Hunter on April 10, 2001 in DeQueen, Ark. Jessie worked as a road grader forman for Choctaw County District 3. He enjoyed doing mechanic work, hunting and fishing. Jessie loved his family very much and enjoyed being “PaPa Smurf.” He is preceded in death by his parents, Ervin Priddy and Elsie Ridenour and two sisters: Ida May Jackson and Ivaline Morris.

Jessie is survived by his wife, Melanie of the home; two children: Cary Vanderburg of Chicota, Texas, and Gina Vanderburg of Arkansas; four grandchildren: Casyn, Callie, Hazel and Haylee; seven siblings: John Priddy and wife, Vickie of Fort Towson, Jim Priddy and wife, Kimberly of Valliant, Okla., Josh Priddy and wife, May of Hugo, Okla., James Priddy and wife, Billie Mae of Fort Towson, Jean Priddy and wife, Lena of Fort Towson, Jeffery Priddy and wife, Kristy of Fort Towson and Inell Spencer and husband, Ronnie of Fort Towson.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29, 2021 at the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home in Hugo.
