Celebration of life for John Howser was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 17, 2021 at The Church –– Garvin, Okla., with Pastor Brent Coffey and Pastor Mike Bryant officiating. Burial followed at Springs Chapel Cemetery. John went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2021, in Plano, Texas, at the age of 61.

John Paul Howser, Jr. was born Dec. 5, 1959, the son of John Paul and Barbara Kathleen (Conner) Howser in Wichita Falls, Texas. He married the love of his life, Karen

Jones in Grant, Okla., on Nov. 4, 1978. Over his lifetime he worked as a mill wright, a concrete finisher alongside his dad, an EMT and a firefighter. John enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and playing golf. He treasured time spent with family and his grandkids. John was a hero to many. He was a strong Christian man and lead an exemplary life. He will be greatly missed. John is preceded in death by one son, Jarrett Howser and his father-inlaw, Thomas Gerald Jones. John is survived by his wife, Karen Howser of the home; his parents, John and Barbara Howser of Hugo; two daughters: Brandy McKnight and husband, Jim, Kimberley Fowler and husband,

Chris all of Sawyer, Okla.; brothers: Ray Howser and wife, Laurie of Reno, Texas, Isaac Howser and wife, Theresa of Hugo; sisters: Kathy Prickett and husband, David of Katy, Texas, Penny Walker and husband, James of San Antonio, Texas, Charlotte Winton and husband, Dean of Powderly, Texas; brother-in-law, Tommy Jones and wife, Missi of Sawyer; mother-in-law, Juanita Jones of Sawyer; grandchildren: Preston Black, Austin McKnight, Taylor McKnight, Keeli Fowler, Ayden Fowler, Creed Fowler; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends and family.

Services were under the direction of Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home.
