John L. Gibson, known affectionately as John to his friends and family, passed away peacefully of natural causes on Jan. 18, 2025 in Cleburne, Texas. Born on Sept. 10, 1934 in Fort Towson, Okla., John’s life was marked by his selfless nature and thoughtful spirit, qualities that endeared him to all who knew him.

John spent the majority of his career in plastic manufacturing in Dallas, Texas, where his dedication and hard work were well-known and respected. His professional life was characterized by the same integrity and kindness that he brought to every aspect of his life. John’s love of nature was something he shared with his family and friends, creating lasting memories on fishing trips, picnics and nature hikes.

Family was the cornerstone of John’s life. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Audra Arzola and her husband of Cleburne, Texas, and his three cherished grandchildren, who will miss their grandfather’s gentle guidance and unwavering support. John’s legacy of love and kindness will live on through them. John was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Linda Diane Gibson, who passed away on Aug. 4, 2024. Their enduring love story was a testament to mutual respect and deep affection. He was also preceded in death by his four brothers: C.D., Ray, Wayne and Ruben Gibson, and his parents, Carl and Ethel Gibson. The family takes comfort in knowing that John has been reunited with his loved ones who went before him. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 24, 2025 in the Fort Towson Cemetery Chapel. Services are under the direction of Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home.
