Louis Gene Lee

Funeral services for Louis Gene Lee, of Ada, Okla., were held at 11 a.m. Aug.

8, 2023 at Miller & Miller Funeral Home Chapel. Louis passed away Aug. 3, 2023 in Ada, Okla., at the age of 79.

Louis Gene Lee was born July 21, 1944 in Safford, Ariz., the son of Carl Lee and Frances Reed Lee. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Hal Ray Lee and William Woodard Lee.

Gene married the love of his life, Glenda Lou Inge Lee on Nov. 25, 1967 in Hugo, Okla. He and Glenda were married for almost 56 years. He attended Hugo High School in 1962 and left for a four-year tour in the U.S. Navy. He then went on to receive his Bachelor’s Degree from East Central State College and a Master’s Degree in Behavioral Studies from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. Gene lived in the Wanette, Okla., community for 31 years.

He worked as the Administrator of Records for the State of Oklahoma Department of Corrections for 38 years. Gene enjoyed travelling, coin collecting, wood working, and was a big OU fan, but his greatest love was his family, especially his grandchildren. Gene will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Gene is survived by his wife, Glenda Lee; sons: Timothy Lee and wife of Ada and Josh Michael Lee and wife of Ada; brothers: Michael D.

Lee and wife and Carlton R. “Bob” Lee and wife; five grandchildren, three great grandchildren, along with a host of other family, friends and loved ones.

Interment followed the service at Mt. Olivet Cemetery with Ben Bob Mills officiating, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
