Lucilla Gibson

Funeral services for Lucilla Gibson, of Wright City, Okla., were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 26, 2021 at Miller & Miller Funeral Home Chapel in Hugo. Lucilla passed away June 21, 2021, at the age of 59.

Lucilla June Gibson was born on Aug. 4, 1961 in Talihina, Okla., to Joel Samuel Aaron and Marian Magdalene (Wickson) Aaron. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Alan Dale Gibson; and brother, Joel Samuel “Cubby” Aaron, II.

Lucilla married Audie Gibson on March 17, 1979 in the town of Wright City, where they have lived for many years. Lucilla was employed at the Idabel Choctaw Casino for nine years. She was a people person and loved meeting new people and making new friends. Lucilla loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking family meals and decorating for every single holiday. Lucilla also enjoyed listening to her old school music and drawing, whether it was by herself or with her grandchildren. She was the family stone and her passing has left a huge void in her family’s life.

Lucilla is survived by her beloved husband of 42 years, Audie; son, Adam Dakota Gibson and wife of Ada, Okla.; daughters: Stephanie Renae Gibson of Broken Bow, Okla., and Geneva Gail Gibson of Wright City; sisters: Sandra Franklin of Valliant, Okla., Cynthia Shomo of Broken Bow, Jeanetta Aaron of Durant, Okla.; 11 grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and a host of other family, friends and loved ones.

Interment followed the service at Slater Cemetery in Wright City with Bro. Lester Tims officiating, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
