Services for Michael Brizendine of Messer, Okla., were held Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at Trinity Baptist Church in Messer. Michael died July 14, 2023 in Messer at the age of 78.

Michael Lee Brizendine, 78, was born on Aug. 11, 1944, to Russell Lee Brizendine and Helen Brizendine (née Maxine) in Kansas City, Mo. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, David Paul Brizendine.

Michael grew up in Kansas and was a proud graduate of the University of Kansas, from where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in mathematics. After graduation, he moved to Dallas, Texas, and spent the next 20 years managing Torres Industries; a tool and die manufacturer. Michael later moved to Rockwall, Texas, and continued his career at Performance Tool and Die, Inc. In 1992, he opened his own automotive shop, and ran that business for nearly 30 years. One of Michael’s passions was operating a camera crane for college football games. He moved to Messer with his loving wife, Linda, and then retired in 2021. Michael was a man of many talents, but always put the Lord and his family above everything else. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Messer. Michael continued to attend church services, even as his health began to decline, as he loved worshipping the Lord. Although his passing has left a void in the lives of his family and friends, his memory will live on in all who knew and loved him. Michael is survived by his loving wife, Linda Darlene; children, David Brizendine of Irving, Texas, and Heidi Brizendine of Austin, Texas; stepchildren, Jacob Vining of Texarkana, Texas and Melani Zimmerman of Aubrey, Texas; brother Darrell Brizendine, of Ormond Beach, Fla.; as well as a host of friends, family, and loved ones.
