Memorial services for Patricia (Flowers) Schaef, of Boswell, Okla., will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Victory Life Church in Boswell. Patricia passed away April 26, 2024, at the age of 83.

Patricia (Flowers) Schaef was born on Aug. 3, 1940, in Canadian, Texas, the daughter of Gilman Flowers and Lois (King) Flowers. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Joe Flowers and Wayne Flowers and sister, Sandra Flowers.

Patricia married the love of her life, Larry Schaef, on Dec. 16, 1962 in Canadian, Texas. They moved to the Boswell area in 1964 and built their life together. Patricia and family moved to Venezuela, South America, in 1974 to farm for five years but ended up staying 14 years. During the time there, Patricia was an elementary school teacher and translated that love for education over to the church, where she taught Sunday school in Boswell for many years. She loved to share and teach the youth of the community about the Lord. Patricia loved to travel and visit new places. She and her family loved to go on cruises, and she always made sure they went to all of the family reunions. Patricia loved her brothers and sisters and she was always excited to go on yearly trips together to visit somewhere they could all enjoy. She never knew a stranger and would talk to anyone, anywhere. Patricia had an amazing talent for painting and enjoyed sharing “chalk talks” with the community. Patricia loved her family dearly and her greatest joy was spending time with them. She always had the BEST attitude and beautiful smile right up to the end. Her passing has left a void in their lives, but her loving memory will live on through them.

Patricia is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Larry Schaef of Boswell; children: Jeffery Schaef and wife of Wichita, Kan., Toby Schaef and wife of Laramie, Wyo., and Tammy Lauchner and husband of Broussard, La.; eight grandchildren and their spouses; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Roy Flowers and wife of Spearman, Texas; sisters: Frances Newell of Canadian, Texas, Zella Meeks and husband of Amarillo, Texas, Vicki Bolin and husband of Dallas, Texas, and Dixie Cook and husband of Canadian, Texas; a sister-in-law, along with a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
