Patsy L. Trent
Patsy L. Trent, a beloved wife, sister and friend, walked through heaven’s gate on Sept.
27, 2025, at the age of 68. She spent her final years in the quiet Oklahoma countryside of her rural home, where she had lived since retiring from a distinguished career in the United States Air Force. Patsy’s life was one of service, dedication and quiet strength.
Patsy was born on May 3, 1957, in the bedroom of her childhood home near Boswell, Okla., to Nellie and Herman Long. Patsy was always drawn to travel and adventure. As a young woman, she enlisted in the Air Force, where she quickly proved herself to be an exceptional airman. Over the course of her 21-year military career, Patsy served in various capacities, including as an Inventory Management Specialist and later as an Education and Training Manager. Her work helped ensure the safety and success of countless missions, and she was respected by all who served alongside her. Patsy retired with the rank of Master Sergeant, having earned numerous accolades, including the Meritorious Service Medal and the Air Force Commendation Medal.
After her retirement from the Air Force, Patsy returned home to seek a peaceful life away from the bustle of military life. Shortly after returning Patsy married the love of her life, Jimmy Trent, on May 6, 2004. It was then, in the sounds and rhythms of country life, that Patsy found her calm and peace again. She became known in her community as someone who would tell you what you need to hear not what you want to hear but always had commitment to helping others.
Whether she was tending to her pets, re-decorating her house, or simply sitting on her front porch watching the deer in the yard, Patsy radiated warmth and contentment to the three most important things to her: God, Family and Country with Trump in a close fourth.
She had an infectious laugh and a heart full of stories, always ready to share a tale from her time in the Air Force or from her many years of travel.
Patsy is survived by her beloved husband, Jimmy Trent; her three stepchildren: Cassie Blackburn, Jimmy Trent, Jr., Joshua Trent.
Patsy’s heart and wisdom were the cornerstones of her family, and her joy was sharing the lives of her cherished grandchildren: Alexia Miller, Ceely Hill, Macie Trent, Tyne Trent, Tyree Lancaster, C.J. Lancaster, Josiah Trent, Jermiah Trent, Taylor Trent, Mary Trent, and great-grandchildren: Bryson Miller and Ozzy Beck; as well as her brother, Alan Long and sister, Shirley Boykin.
Patsy Lee Trent will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her service to her country, and the quiet, but sturdy way she lived her life. She may have left this world, but her spirit will forever remain in the skies she so loved and the hearts of all who knew her.
Rest in peace, Patsy. You served your country with honor, loved with a full heart, and lived with both quiet grace and a ferocity that will never be forgotten.
Her Memorial Service was held on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2025 in the Archey Baptist Church. Family and friends are invited to sign the guest book or send private condolences at www.praterlampton.com.
