Ruth Ann (West) Sanchez

Memorial services for Ruth Ann (West) Sanchez, of Yuma, Ariz., were held on July 17, 2026. Ruth passed from this life on June 26, 2026, at the age of 73. Ruth was born May 16, 1953 in Bakersfield, Calif., to Thomas and Mary Joe West Rodriguez, but moved at a young age to Yuma, where she called home. Ruth married John Sanchez III in March 1977 and were married 44 years, until his death in 2021. Ruth spent her career as an environmental services worker and retired from the Yuma Regional Medical Center.

Ruth will be remembered for her quiet strength in caring for others and her sense of humor. She was an avid t-shirt collector, picking up many while traveling. Ruth loved taking yearly road trips with her mom and sisters.

Preceding Ruth in death are her husband and parents; son, Michael Lucero and brother, Stephen West.

Ruth is survived by her son, John Thomas Sanchez; daughter, Lori (John) Conde, both of Yuma, Ariz.; grandchildren: Tiana, Jaysen, and Adrian; great-granddaughter, Jade; step-father, Henry Rodriguez of Hugo, Okla.; sisters: Vickie Lane of Mt. Vernon, Wash., Barbara West of Pryor, Okla., Lela Rodriguez of Hugo, Twyla Perry of Ft. Worth, Texas; brother, Butch Rodriguez of Oklahoma City, Okla., and many other loving family members and friends.

Services were under the direction of Desert Lawn Memorial Park, Yuma, Ariz.
