Sammy “Sam” Lee Pierce
Funeral services for Sammy “Sam” Lee Pierce, of Boswell, Okla., were held Sept. 1, 2026 at Victory Life Church in Boswell. Sammy passed away Aug. 29, 2026, at the age of 82.
Sammy Lee Pierce was born on Jan. 9, 1944 in Boswell, Okla., the son of Leroy Pierce and Evelyn Pearl (Clark) Pierce. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Connie Moore; grandchildren: Jared “Luther” Pierce and Aaron Moore; and brothers: Joe Pierce and Charles “Butch” Pierce.
Sam was a lifelong resident of Boswell and a graduate of Boswell High School, Class of 1963. He proudly served his country in the Oklahoma National Guard. Sam was active in the community, supporting local youth in the Boswell FFA chapter as an Ag Booster. He enjoyed doing mechanical work and making sure everything was in working order. Sam loved ranching and enjoyed caring for his animals. He loved visiting with family and friends, but he especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Sam is survived by his beloved wife of 27 years, Christi (Ward) Pierce of the home; sons: Chris Pierce and wife, Heather of Durant, Okla., and Kent Rife and wife, Cathy of Coweta, Okla.; daughters: Sammye Loftin of Boswell, Kim Belvin and husband, Will of Valliant, Okla., and Jessica Pierce of Durant; 25 grandchildren, including a very special Sunnie Jade; numerous great-grandchildren; brothers: Robert “Heavy” Pierce and wife, Jeania and Tony “Porter” Pierce and wife, Lisa of Boswell; sisters: Betty Winters, Rhonda Pierce, and Shirley Miller and husband, Larry of Boswell; uncle, Pat Pierce; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of family and friends.
Interment followed the service at the Pierce Family Cemetery with Bro. Joe Gordon officiating, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
