With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Scotty Gene Jones of Antlers, Okla., a beloved father, grandfather, son, uncle and friend, who departed this world on March 3, 2026, just shy of his 64th birthday in Paris, Texas, after a long health battle. Born on March 11, 1962, in the vibrant city of Las Vegas, Nev., Scotty moved to Oklahoma from Nevada in 1971 at the age of 9.

Scotty was the cherished son of the late Bob G. Jones and Wanda Sue Horne, who instilled in him the values of kindness, resilience and a love for the simple pleasures in life. He was preceded in death by his son, Jason Jones; and his sister, Tamara Booth, whom he held close in his heart throughout his days.

Though his passing leaves a tremendous void, his legacy lives on through his surviving family: his devoted daughter, Jennifer Jones of Caddo, Okla., who was his pride and joy, and his precious granddaughter, who was the light of his life. Scotty’s memory will also be lovingly cherished by his nephew and wife, along with Scotty’s two great-nephews.

Professionally, Scotty was a dedicated truck driver, a career that took him across the vast landscapes of America. His work was not just a job but a journey that allowed him to see the country he loved. Beyond his career, Scotty spent as much time as he could in the great outdoors. Nature was a sanctuary, where he spent countless hours walking through the woods, birdwatching, and embracing the tranquility of the natural world. These opportunities to refresh his spirit were some of his most treasured.

Scotty also found joy in playing Wheel of Fortune with his mother, Wanda Sue, a pastime that brought them closer as they competed for the nightly win. These moments of connection and shared happiness were among his favorites. Scotty’s warm spirit will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Scotty’s family will be holding a private remembrance in his honor, under the direction of Mt. Olive Funeral Home.
