Funeral services for Sean “Booger” Loyd Hughes, of Valliant, Okla., will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 2, 2026 at Miller & Miller Funeral Home in Valliant. Sean passed away Dec. 27, 2025, at the age of 54.

Sean “Booger” Loyd Hughes was born on April 12, 1971 in Oklahoma City, Okla., the son of Harold Loyd Hughes and Bertha Marie (Cantrell) Hughes. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother-in-law; and a niece.

Sean was a lifelong resident of McCurtain County and was a graduate of Valliant High School, Class of 1989. Born into a family that valued hard work, Sean quickly became known as a Jack-of-all-Trades. Whether it was plumbing, painting, carpentry or even mechanic work, Sean could do a little of it all. Outside of his professional career, he still enjoyed working with his hands and being outdoors. Hunting and fishing were some of the few things that he truly enjoyed.

Sean loved to make people laugh and had a skill for playfully aggravating his family and friends. Yet, behind every joke and prank was a man with a heart of gold, who would go to great lengths to ensure that those he loved were happy and always laughing. Sean was a man who lived fully, laughed loudly, and loved unconditionally. Sean is survived by his family; sisters: Gwen Morris, Colleen Morris and husband, Venessa Moyer and husband; partner, Terri Hughes; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousin, other family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2025 at Miller & Miller Funeral Home in Valliant.
