Funeral services for Theodore Arnold Crain, Jr., of Hugo, Okla., were held Monday, Aug. 10, 2026 at Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
Theodore Arnold Crain, Jr., 95, passed on from this life on Aug. 5, 2026 in Hugo, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on Jan. 8, 1931, four miles north of Hugo, the oldest child of Theodore Arnold Crain, Sr. and Willie Jewell (Collins) Crain. Arnold was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Jewell; beloved wife, Betty Fay (Griffin) Crain; and sisters: Melba Sue Barnett and Marie Guin.
Arnold grew up around the Hugo area and was a graduate of Hugo High School, Class of 1948. In the summer of 1950, Arnold went to work for Ethyl Dow Corporation in Houston, Texas, where he worked for 23 months until he received his notice that he was being drafted. He joined the United States Air Force and proudly served his country. During his time in the military, he married his loving wife, Betty, on Sept. 27,1952. The military moved the couple to several bases throughout the next few years and when Arnold was honorably discharged in 1956, the family moved back to Freeport, Texas. Arnold started back to work at the same corporation, now called The Dow Chemical Company, where he worked for more than 25 years, later retiring in 1982 as the Security Captain. After retirement, Betty and Arnold moved back to where they grew up, Hugo, Okla., and they enjoyed 60 years together until Betty’s passing in 2012. Arnold is survived by his loving family; sons: Richard “Ricky” Crain and spouse, Wayne Crain and spouse, and Billy Crain and spouse; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his beloved dog, and a host of friends and other family.
Services were under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
