Funeral services for Wanda Nell (Bullard) Fails, of Soper, Okla., were held at 10 a.m.

Friday, July 19, 2024 at Miller & Miller Funeral Home Chapel.

Wanda passed away July 16, 2024, at the age of 85.

Wanda Nell Fails was born on July 9, 1939 in Lubbock, Texas, the daughter of John “J.D.” Bullard and Nina Mae (Dudley) Bullard.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 59 years, Raymond Lloyd Fails; brothers: George Bullard, Norman Bullard, Fred Bullard, Ray Bullard, Truman Bullard and Roy Bullard and sisters: Shirley Buchanan and Rita Mae King.

Wanda was a graduate of Anton, Texas, High School and married her beloved husband, Raymond Fails on June 6, 1959 in Lubbock, Texas. She helped raise her siblings before they moved back to Raymond’s hometown of Soper where they raised their own family. Wanda was a member of the Soper Volunteer Fire Department and worked as a beautician for 60 years. She loved spending time with her sisters and especially enjoyed going home to Lubbock to visit her family. Wanda enjoyed watching her grandkids play ball and it brought her great joy when her only granddaughter Savannah was born. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.

Wanda will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Wanda is survived by her son, Randy Fails of Austin, Texas; daughters: Donna Wallace and husband of Yukon, Okla., and Linda Langley and husband of Hugo; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, along with a host of other family, friends and loved ones.

Interment followed the service at Soper Cemetery with Jake Self officiating, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
