HUGO — Choctaw County Sheriff Terry Park received a federal arrest warrant for Jefffrey Lyn Pierce, who was previously charged in Choctaw County District Court on Sept. 9, 2020, for murder in the first degree for the stabbing death of Ronnie Fitzpatrick Pierce in May, 2020.

Spillman remains president after Hugo School Board realignment

The Hugo Board of Education met in regular session on April 12. Realignment of the board resulted in Shane Spillman continuing as President and Jeff White continuing as Vice President. Dwight Kos was elected by the board to serve as Clerk. Other board members include Dr. Mike Irvin and Susan Brewer. IDABEL — The Hugo Buffaloes turned up the heat a notch on both offense and defense, booking two road-wins over Idabel and Fort Towson. The Buffaloes blanked the error-prone Warriors 12-0, giving up only two hits during the contest and plating nine unearned runs.

Soper’s Lady Red Bears walloped the Hugo Lady Buffaloes 13 to 3 in a three-way round-robin in Boswell last week. The Lady Buffaloes started out strong when Eden Grace smashed a ball to the left field fence to put Hugo up 1-0.
