Southside Baptist Church, located at 500 E. Trice in Hugo, will present “O Holy Night” children’s Christmas nativity play at 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 19. All are welcome in this special remembrance of Christ’s birth.

Mid-to-late week will bring some off-and-on rain to the area and then when the weekend arrives we are going to see the chance of rain and the temperature going down. High temperatures on Saturday and Sunday will only be around 50 degrees and dropping to near the freezing mark at night.

Christmas coloring contest winners announced

Boswell Animal Kare recently hosted its fourth annual Christmas Coloring Contest! Judging was performed by the BAK staff who admired the talent represented on each coloring sheet! Each winner received a movie basket abounding with movies, candy, popcorn, and more. DURANT – Southeastern Oklahoma State University recognized the recipients of the Top 10 Freshman Award recently during a ceremony and reception in the Hallie McKinney Ballroom. Southeastern president Thomas Newsom and executive director of the center for student success Marlin Blankenship offered remarks in congratulating the students.
