OMRF receives $2.1 million to study immune system

The National Institutes of Health has awarded an Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation scientist $2.1 million to better understand the metabolism of T cells, a critical component of our immune system. With the fiveyear grant, OMRF scientist Meng Zhao, Ph.D., will study the role mitochondria — the driver for energy and metabolism in cells — plays in T cells, one of the white blood cells of the immune system.

Hugo Basketball Homecoming will be held Friday, Feb. 3. The games will be girls JV, boys JV, boys varsity, girls varsity. Homecoming coronation will be held at halftime of the boys game, but is subject to change. Hugo Senior Night will be held Feb. 13 against Okmulgee. The senior night ceremony will be held before the girls game.
