Sheilah Gibbs , of Hugo, was the first week’s winner of the Hugo News Football Contest after choosing 14 out of 18 games correctly. Gibbs guessed closest (199) to the Hugo Buffaloes’ total offense figure (193) to edge out Tim Loftin. Pictured, Gibbs (left) collects the $50 weekly prize from Don Loman from Red River Counseling, where she obtained her winning entry blank. Suspect arrested on arson complaints after two-hour standoff

CHOCTAW COUNTY –– A Rufe, Okla., man was arrested on two counts of arson last week, after law enforcement responded to a residence in Rufe, where two mobile homes were burned to the ground. According to Choctaw County Sheriff Deputy Dustin Gibbs, he was dispatched to a structure fire last Tuesday in which the fire department had requested sheriff’s assistance due to the resident having a violent past history.
