Funeral services for Mike Woodruff will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 31, 2023 at Prater Lampton-Mills & Coffey Chapel. Burial will follow at Sawyer Cemetery. Mike passed away Friday, Aug. 25, 2023, in Duncanville, Texas, at the age of 63.

Michael Joe Woodruff was born Aug. 20, 1960 in Rockledge, Fla., the son of Pat Joe and Eva Jane (Taylor) Woodruff. He graduated from Hugo High School, and he enlisted in the Army. He was on active duty from 1977-1980 and then the reserves until 1983. He worked as an RN most of his life. After he retired from nursing, he drove trucks for two years. He moved back to his family home in Sawyer, Okla., in 2017 –– it’s been in the family since the 70s. He enjoyed carpentry, building everything from bookcases to outdoor playhouses and storage sheds. He was a master scuba diver and he loved hunting and fishing. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Mark Woodruff; sister, Cherrie Cochran.

Mike is survived by two daughters: Holly Woodruff of Coppell, Texas, Laura Courcheshe and husband, Nick; four grandchildren: Carson, Kyler, Emery and Elijah; sister, Crystal Roebuck of Sawyer, Okla.; nephew, Justice Roebuck.
