Fort Towson Historic Site will have its 200th celebration on Saturday, May 18, beginning at 10 a.m. with events all day long. The ceremony will recognize the contribution of the soldiers who manned Fort Towson when it was active, all while celebrating the tremendous contributions of the Choctaw and Chickasaw people. They will also host “History Day Camp” for kids ages 9 to 12 from Tuesday, May 28, through Thursday, May 30.

STILLWATER –– More than 130 Oklahoma 4-Hers learned how state government works at the 25th annual 4-H Day at the Capitol on April 17 in Oklahoma City. Steve Beck, state program leader for Oklahoma 4-H Youth Development, said this time-honored event is a win-win for everyone.

Wilson bound over in copper stealing case

Arraignment was scheduled for Matthew Wilson this week after he was bound over as charged on five felony complaints. According to court records, Wilson, who was arrested in January after being identified as a person of interest in the destruction of a local radio station’s tower for the purpose of stripping the copper and selling it, was charged with the following felony counts: 1.
