Daisy Jane Hawthorne, of Fort Towson, Okla., passed away Dec. 11, 2023, at the age of 85.

Daisy Jane Hawthorne was born on Oct. 29, 1938 in Talihina, Okla., the daughter of Luther Bruce Ridenour and Ida Mae (Milligan) Ridenour. She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings: Roy Ridenour, Elsie Priddy, Lucy Fowler and Irene Easterwood.

Daisy met the love of her life in fifth grade in January of 1949 and six years later they were married and spent the next 68 wonderful years together, making memories with their family. She was a great wife, mother, sister, grandmother and aunt. Daisy and Bud enjoyed many things together, but some of their favorites were going to drive-in movies and eating out every Sunday. She did not always get to see her sisters regularly, but they would spend hours on the phone visiting. Daisy’s family was very important to her, she loved them dearly and was an amazing cook who enjoyed making meals for family and friends.

She loved to dance, listen to music and play board games with her grandchildren. Daisy loved flowers and trees, her favorites were the Rose of Sharon, the Crepe Myrtle blooms and Redbud which were both in her yard. She always looked beautiful and made sure she looked nice with her lipstick in place. Her family will cherish her memory for years to come.

Daisy is survived by her loving family; husband of 68 years, Doris Arthur “Bud” Hawthorne; son, Michael Dewayne Hawthorne, Sr.; three grandchildren and their spouses; six great-grandchildren; siblings: Lexton Ridenour, Mamie Greenwalt and Bessie Meredith, along with a host of other family, friends and loved ones.
