Howard Sumner

In solemn remembrance of Master Sergeant Howard D. Sumner, USMC retired, aged 87 years of Hugo, Okla. Howard passed away Feb. 28, 2024. Howard was born July 30, 1936 in Non, Okla., to Lois Tollett and Sandford Sumner. Howard joined the United States Marine Corps in 1954 and faithfully served his country until his retirement in 1975 at the rank of Master Sergeant. Howard continued his life of service as commander at VFW Post 8316, where he became a staple in the Hugo community. Every week you could find Howard at the VFW enjoying BINGO with his good friends and community.

Billy Shad Greenwalt, 51, passed on from this life on Feb. 23, 2024, in Hugo, Okla., surrounded by his loving family. Billy was born on Nov. 8, 1972 in Dallas, Texas, the son of Billy L. Greenwalt and Vickie Barton. He was preceded in death by his mother, Vickie Barton and bonus sons: Colton Perdue and Jacob Mays.
