Judy Raines

Funeral services for Judy Raines, of Powderly, Texas, were held at 10 a.m. May 6, 2024 at Miller & Miller Funeral Home. Judy passed away May 1, 2024, at the age of 74.

Judy Raines was born on Feb. 13, 1950 in Cashion, Okla., the daughter of Tony and Adell Benda and had lived most of her adult life in Hugo. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Raines; daughters: Georgia and Lisa; and a granddaughter.

Judy married the love of her life, James Raines, on April 24, 1980 in Anadarko, Okla. Between the two of them, they shared 11 children. Judy was an avid lover of Christ and was a member of Victory Baptist Church of Hugo. Her days consisted of reading her Bible, writing in her journal, baking sweets for everyone’s birthdays and spending time with family and loved ones. She always had a smile on her face and to know her was to love her. Judy is survived by her loving family, two daughters: Susanne Raines of Petty, Texas, and Suprena Raines of Hugo; six grandchildren, two great-granddaughters and numerous other loved ones. Interment followed the service at Messer Cemetery with Bro. Luther Roden officiating, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
