Ramona Yvonne Cheek

Graveside services for Ramona Yvonne Cheek, of Boswell, Okla., were held at 10 a.m. Aug. 26, 2023 at Restland Cemetery in Boswell. Ramona passed away Aug. 21, 2023, at the age of 84.

Ramona Yvonne Cheek was born in Boswell, Okla., the daughter of Archie Selby and Willie Jo (Bonds) Selby. She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Donald Cheek; sons: Ricky Don Cheek and Kevin Cheek; brothers: Joe Selby, Fred Selby, Charles Selby and Gary Selby.

Ramona grew up in Boswell and was a graduate of Boswell High School. She married the love of her life, Donald Cheek, on Nov. 24, 1954 in Bokchito, Okla. They lived in Kress, Texas, for many years and later moved to Bonham, Texas, and then back to Boswell. Ramona loved tending to her vegetable garden and red bud trees. She was a great cook and kept a neat and clean home. She enjoyed traveling and vacations with her sister and was always well dressed. Most of all, Ramona loved being a mother and taking care of her children. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Ramona is survived by her son, Brandon Cheek of Pampa, Texas; daughter, Gail Pennington of Boswell; eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Margie Manar and a brother-in-law of Unger, Okla., along with a host of friends, family and loved ones.

Bro. Jim Gentry officiated the service, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
