Funeral services for Ruby Pearl Clancy were held at 2 p.m. Aug. 9, 2023 at Miller & Miller Funeral Home Chapel. Ruby passed away Aug. 3, 2023, at the age of 97.

Ruby Pearl Clancy was born June 20, 1926 in Paris, Texas, the daughter of Pleasant Homer Richardson and Lily Pearl Preston Richardson. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl Clancy; brothers: Ben Richardson, George Richardson and Dewey Richardson; sisters: Dollie Palmer, Jewel Weisner, Elizabeth Vakavich, Gladys White, Earline Camino, LaVern Williams and Juanita Hughes.

Ruby married the love of her life, Carl Clancy, on June 13, 1942 in Hugo, Okla., where they lived and raised their children. She was a rancher and loved being on the ranch. Ruby also enjoyed cooking for her family and especially loved taking care of her grandchildren.

Ruby is survived by her son, Joe Clancy and wife, Judy of Hugo; daughters: Carlene Clancy Smith and husband, Jim Thompson of Tulsa, Okla., and Linda Jaffe of Austin, Texas; sister, Helen Kinsworthy of Mesquite, Texas; grandchildren: Jeff Clancy, Julie Perez, Dennis Meeks, Casey Meeks, Gage Meeks, Andy Smith and Sara Griffin; eight great-grandchildren: Amelia, Grant, Ruby, Jack, Luke, Ben, Josie, Christopher, Olivia and Elise; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and host of other family and friends.

Interment followed the service at Mt. Olivet Cemetery with Dr. Steve Deaton officiating, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
