HUGO — A Grant resident was attacked by a pack of three dogs last week and air-flighted to a Texas hospital in critical condition. The attack spurred the Hugo Police Department to crack down on the number of rogue dogs roaming in many parts of Hugo.

OCA adopts important policies at annual Winter Policy meeting

The Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association (OCA) successfully concluded its 2025 Winter Policy Meeting, where OCA members gathered to discuss and adopt policies addressing critical issues impacting the cattle industry. The meeting brought together cattle producers from across the state to ensure the voice of Oklahoma’s ranchers is heard on matters of state and national importance.

IT WON’T BE LONG before we hear the umpire yell “PLAY BALL” at Hugo’s Shull-Bywaters Park. Working hard to get the field into top shape for the upcoming season over the past weekend were Charlie Bob Wibben, Tim Lemmons, B.J. Lemmons and Coach Scott Schier. The group put in a number of hours improving the dirt and leveling the infield in preparation for some late-winter grass. Stopping to make a financial contribution to the effort was former Hugo Buffalo Mike Ford.

Hugo News Sports The Lady Buffaloes fell to Madill 79-55 on homecoming last Tuesday despite a strong second half performance. Hugo got out to a slow start, scoring just six points in the first quarter and 11 in the second.
