Hugo News Sports The Hugo varsity cheerleaders are headed to State after placing second at Regionals over the weekend. The Buffaloes traveled to Chickasha on Saturday to compete in Regionals, where they scored a 266.8 overall, second to only Newkirk, who scored a 284.6.

Hugo News Sports HUGO — The Buffaloes are coming off bye week, where they spent time refocusing and preparing for this week’s game against Idabel. Hugo started the season 0-3 with a few tough non-conference games, and they’re looking to turn the tide going into conference play.

Safety of middle school children becomes concern for parents

HUGO — A rash of fights at Hugo Middle School has been cited by area parents as the need for some immediate action by the Hugo board of education and school administration. As students returned to school in mid-August, an unusually large number of inappropriate behavior slips were reportedly written by teachers due to bad student conduct.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Urban and Community Forestry Grants will be available to Oklahoma communities again this year. The federal grants, administered by Oklahoma Forestry Services, are intended primarily to help communities and nonprofits develop local forestry plans, broaden urban forestry programs, and provide training opportunities.
