Diesel Technology Instructor Homer Chapman (pictured second from left) attended Kubota Train-the-Trainer Jan. 31 through Feb. 4. The training took place in Phoenix/Buckeye, Ariz., at the Western Maricopa Education Center. Mr. Chapman received Kubota certifications in Pre-Delivery Inspection & Delivery and Electricity & Electronics. The certifications are authorized through NC3 (National Coalition of Certification Centers).

Carlee Jo-Ann Barcheers is the Hugo News First Baby of the Year for 2022. Carlee was born at 8:09 a.m. Jan. 22, 2022 at Durant Alliance Health to proud parents, Lyndi Lowery and Hunter Barcheers, of Boswell, Okla. Carlee weighed seven pounds, five ounces and was 20 inches long. Grandparents are Amy Lowery of Hugo, Todd Lowery of Boswell and Gracanna Barcheers and Carl Barcheers of Boswell. Greatgrandparents are Jan Green of Boswell, Max Green of Enid, Okla., and Rita Barcheers and Roy Barcheers of Boswell. Carlee received great gifts from local merchants, including: Complete Care Medical, Ed Wallace, Main Tire, Hugo Family Pharmacy, Busy Bee, Dyer Quick Lube, Ameristate Bank, Choctaw Memorial Hospital and Choctaw/Push. County Youth Services.
