Library’s summer reading adventure soon to begin

Summer is just around the corner and the Southeast Oklahoma Library System (SEOLS) is gearing up for its 2023 Summer Reading Program – All Together Now! The program will run from May 20th through June 30th at all SEOLS locations and is intended to promote kindness, friendship and unity. All programs are free of charge!

Hugo banker graduates from OBA commercial lending school

OKLAHOMA CITY — Chance Martin, with FirstBank (in Hugo), recently completed the Oklahoma Bankers Association Commercial Lending School in Oklahoma City. Martin was among 68 graduates of the school, which was held March 5-10 at the OBA Harris Event Center in Oklahoma City.

Cassie Drake has been awarded a $4,000 Yates Companies, Inc. scholarship for the first two years of college. Cassie was selected by a scholarship committee at the Yates Companies, Inc. based upon academics, extra-curricular activities and two short essays.

As diagnostic procedures become more sophisticated and the public’s awareness grows, more individuals will be accurately diagnosed at a younger age and an earlier stage of the disease. Alzheimer’s disease is considered to be early in its onset, or starting point, if an individual is age 65 or younger when symptoms first appear.
