HUGO — One of Oklahoma’s largest and oldest insurance companies, State Farm Insurance, celebrated its 100th Anniversary on June 7 this year. In support of that milestone anniversary, Hugo Mayor Ernest McCarty has declared June 7 as “State Farm Day in Hugo!” (See proclamation on this page.) State Farm Insurance also has a significant history right here in Hugo, as A.B.

Hugo PRCA Rodeo celebrates 60 years This weekend, thousands of people will flock to Hugo for the 60th annual Hugo PRCA Rodeo. The festivities kick off Wednesday at 6 with the overflow events.

The PRCA Rodeo Committee announces that the 60th annual Hugo Rodeo Parade will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, June 3. All area businesses, churches, homecoming classes, clubs and youth groups and individuals are urged to make plans to enter the parade to compete for cash prize money. The theme this year is “Rocking the 60s,” in honor of the 60th Anniversary. Line up begins at 2 p.m. at the Boys & Girls Club

“The SEOLS Bookmobile will expand our area coverage by bringing full library services to our small and rural communities,” Executive Director Michael Hull said. “The Bookmobile has a full physical collection of more than 2,000 items ranging from Children, Juvenile, Young Adult, Adult, and Large Print books along with audiobooks and DVDs.”
