HUGO — Approximately 40 area citizens, including both business owners and public employees, participated in an economic development seminar Friday morning at the Kiamichi Tech Center. David Myers, a retired economic developer with Ponca City served as moderator of the meeting and led participants through a series of question and answer sessions that were intended to shine a light on both area attractions and assets as well as things or conditions that might be impediments to growth and job development.

On Jan. 23, 2025 at approximately 7:30 p.m., the Hugo Police Department received a call requesting officers to attempt to locate an overdue motorist. Richard Stevens was unable to contact his wife, Tamara Higgins and two minor children by phone.
