Emma Sue (Martin) Green

Emma Sue (Martin) Green, 86, of Hugo, Okla., departed this life on April 12, 2025, to be with her Lord Jesus. Emma Sue was born Sept. 16, 1938 in Bluff City, Ark. She was the youngest of 10 children of Curlin Monroe and Lula Dee (Franks) Martin. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Waldo, Ark., for many years. After moving from Waldo to Hugo in 2006, she joined First Baptist Church of Hugo.

Emma Sue, during her working years, sewed a variety of things including jackets, shoes, covers for furniture and cushions for several manufacturing companies. She enjoyed most of all making Bible covers, quilts of all sizes, and clothes for herself and others.

Sue is preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and five brothers; her son, Carl Ray Green; daughter-in-law, Becky Tucker Green, and great-granddaughter, Brinlee Diana Allison.

Sue is survived by her husband, William of the home; son, William Donald Green of Hugo, Okla.; daughter-in-law, Penny Green of Granbury, Texas; grandchildren: Carl Matthew Green of Austin, Texas, April Allison and husband, Bobby of Granbury, Texas, William Joshua Green and wife, Jennifer of Fort Smith, Ark., Micah Taylor Green and wife, Paige of El Reno, Okla., Luke Andrew Green and wife, Seaira of Sand Springs, Okla.; several great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Emma’s family says a huge thank you to her church family, the entire staff at Elmbrook Nursing Facility, Amedisys Home Health, Dr. Mike Irvin and Elara Caring Hospice for the wonderful care all of you have given her over the past two years.

Services for Emma Sue Green were held Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at the Hugo First Baptist Church, followed by interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Services were under the direction of Prater- Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home.
