James Edward Easterwood, Jr.
Funeral services for James Edward Easterwood, Jr., of Fort Towson, Okla., will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, 2024 at Fort Towson Cemetery. James passed away Aug. 4, 2024, at the age of 75.
James “Buzzy” Edward Easterwood, Jr. was born on Feb. 16, 1949 in Fort Towson, Okla., the son of James E. and Geneva (Justice) Easterwood. He was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Irene Easterwood; brother, Steve Easterwood and sisters: Linda Tyler and infant sister, Carolyn Jan Easterwood.
Buzzy was a lifelong resident and 1967 high school graduate of Fort Towson. Upon graduation, he honorably served his country in the US Army. Buzzy married his beloved wife, Anna Chrisman on Aug. 1, 1968 in Swink, Okla. He worked for Western Farmers Electric in the parts department, handling shipping and receiving. Buzzy loved being outside working on his place and enjoyed working in his garden. He had a work project going on at all times and liked to stay busy.
Buzzy was a great neighbor and friend and was always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need. He was a member of the Fort Towson Baptist Church and was truly a servant of the Lord. Buzzy will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Anna Easterwood of the home; daughters: Karen Vazquez and husband of Calera, Okla., and Tammy Thompson and husband of Hugo; seven grandchildren and spouses, five greatgrandchildren; brother, Roy Gene Easterwood of Lexington, Okla.; sisters: Jeanie Batson and husband of Fort Towson, Gail Beardsley and husband of Arlington, Texas, and Debbie Cody and husband of Fort Towson; a brotherin- law, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; along with a host of other family, friends and loved ones.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7th, 2024 at Miller & Miller Funeral Home in Hugo.
