Bob Gilbreth
Funeral services for Bob Gilbreth, of Hugo, Okla., were held at 2 p.m. Sept. 4, 2024 at First Assembly of God Church in Hugo. Bob passed away Aug. 30, 2024, at the age of 84.
Bob Richard Gilbreth was born on July 16, 1940 in Hugo, Okla., the son of Carl Lee Gilbreth and Nola (Evans) Gilbreth. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son-in-law and sister, Carlena L. Gilbreth.
Bob was the definition of true grit. He was a leader amongst men, and loved by all who knew him. A great father, Pepaw, uncle, husband, neighbor and friend to all walks of life. Quiet but quick witted and always steady. The epitome of a small-town southern man.
Bob loved many things about life, but his passion was to keep everyone’s feathers ruffled with his ornery disposition. He wore many hats, with there not being much that he couldn’t do. Although a bit of a character, Bob believed a handshake deal was your word and passed those traditional values onto his family. From tilling the land to telling tall tales, his skilled hands crafted many projects. May we always remember the warmth of his love and the wisdom of his wit. His family and dear friends will forever cherish those garage nights with Bob’s infamous poker games. Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Mary of the home; daughters: Pebbles Bennett of Goodland, Okla., and Patti Harris and spouse of Richmond, Va.; a nephew; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and three great-greatgrandchildren, along with a host of other family, friends and loved ones.
Interment followed the service at Mt. Olivet Cemetery with Bro. Keithen Brown officiating, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
