Graveside services for Barbara Dominick, of Soper, Okla., were held at 11 a.m. Jan. 16, 2021 at Soper Cemetery. Barbara passed away Jan. 13, 2021, at the age of 85.

Barbara Dominick was born on Jan. 11, 1936 in Soper, Okla., to George and Mary (Holt) Ferguson. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Kenneth Ferguson; sister, Georgiana “Nana” Ferguson and daughter-in-law, Donna Dominick.

Barbara was known for her sharp sense of humor and her love for children. She retired after many years of teaching public school in both Oklahoma and Texas. Barbara loved teaching science and inspiring children to learn. She had an avid love of research and archaeology, even having spent one summer on an archaeological dig in Colorado. Barbara was a member of the Soper Church of Christ. She looked forward to every Sunday so she could be with her church family. But more than anything, she loved her children, grandchildren, and her many nieces and nephews.

Barbara is survived by her son, Jim Dominick and wife, Cara of Soper; daughter, Dayna Dominick of Soper; grandchildren: Ted Richards and wife, Sheena, George Richards, Amy Dominick Padgett and husband, Ret. Col. Clay Padgett, Leslie Dominick Landrum and husband, Tanner, and Aleisha Hernandez and husband, Joe; great-grandchildren: Vincent Richards, Mika Richards, Beck Landrum, Baylor Landrum and Leo Hernandez; sister, Judy Lester and husband, Delbert of Soper, along with numerous nieces, nephews, greatnieces and nephews, along with a host of other friends and loved ones.

The Rev. Roger Barnes officiated the service, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
