Funeral services for Billy Ray Cochnauer, of Denton, Texas, were held April 9, 2025 at Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
Billy Ray Cochnauer left this earth and found his way through heaven’s gate on April 4, 2025, at the age of 74. He passed away at the Medical Center of Denton surrounded by his loving family.
Bill was born June 26, 1950 in Talihina, Okla., the son of Nicholas Alexander Cochnauer and Nora Anderson Cochnauer and resided most of his life in Hugo.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters: Betty Arlene Bowden and Vickey Marie Felter; five brothers: Lee Cochnauer, Stanley Cochnauer, Marion Cochnauer, Bobby Cochnauer and Dixon Cochnauer; a sisterin law, and the love of his life, Linda Eiland Cochnauer.
Bill was the first in his family to graduate high school. After graduation he went to work for International Paper Company in Valliant, Okla. He then continued his career for more than 30 years with the City of Hugo. He enjoyed auctions and playing with his grandkids. Survivors include his daughter, Lenora Ruth Ankit and husband of Denton, Texas; one son, Billy Cochnauer of Dallas, Texas; a granddaughter; two grandsons; one brother, N.H. Cochnauer of Sawyer, Okla.; a one brother-inlaw, along with many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Interment followed the service at Sawyer Cemetery with Tommy Wesley officiating, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
