Bobby Joe Lane
Bobby Joe Lane, of Soper, Okla., passed away Dec. 4, 2025, at the age of 72.
Bobby Joe Lane was born on April 1, 1953, in Texanna, Okla., the son of Lattie Dorland Lane and Billie Louise (Acker) Lane. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Opal LaVerne (Clark) Lane; son, Robert Dale Coffey; infant sister, Marilyn Lane; brothers: James Lane, David Lane and Paul “Skeet” Lane and sisters: Donna Kirby and Veda Standridge.
Bobby was a resident of Choctaw County most of his adult life and married his loving wife, Opal, on Jan. 12, 1981 in Hugo, Okla. Bobby was a man of many talents and that reflected in his many careers in his life. He was a true Jack of all trades and had the ability to work on just about anything. Bobby was also a Mason and a member of the Antlers Masonic Lodge, No. 39, enjoying the work they did as an organization and helping his community. Bobby was known for his love for the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing with his family and working long hours in his yearly garden. Above all else, he was a loving father, grandfather, and friend to many and his memory will live on in the hearts of his loved ones forever. Bobby is survived by his family; son, Bobby Joe Lane, Jr. of Speer, Okla.; daughter, Shelly Lane of Speer; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; siblings: Jack Lane and wife, Walter “Diggem” Lane and wife, Patricia Fritz and husband, Lois Walters and husband, Jennifer Thomason and husband; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other family and many friends.
