Carl Elwood Stoddard, Jr.

Memorial services for Carl Elwood Stoddard, Jr., of Antlers, Okla., will be held at 1 p.m. March 2, 2025 at Cowboy Crossing Cowboy Church in Hugo. Carl passed away Dec. 28, 2024, at the age of 73.

Carl Elwood Stoddard, Jr. was born on Aug. 8, 1951 in Duluth, Minn., to Harry Norbotten and Victoria Esther Behrends. Carl went to be with his Lord and Savior on Dec. 28, 2024 in Antlers, after a long battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved second wife, Julie Lynn Keeley Stoddard; first wife, Sharon Kay Stoddard and brother, Lee Stoddard.

Carl spent the first eight years of his life in Minnesota, moving to Oklahoma City, Okla., where he graduated from high school. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corp and spent two years in the Panama Canal. After his honorable discharge from the service he moved to Denver, Colo., where he met his first wife and mother of his children, Sharon Kay Miller. Carl worked for the US Geological Survey in Denver for more than 25 years and after retirement moved to Hugo.

Carl was a good, hard-working Christian man and a member of Cowboy Crossing Cowboy Church in Hugo. He loved his church family but above all he loved the Lord with all of his heart.

Carl is survived by his children: Shawn Stoddard and Shelly Stoddard of Colorado; brother, Harry Stoddard and wife of Oklahoma City; two sisters; his happy little dog, along with many friends and loved ones.

Services are under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
