Carolyn Ann (Wood) Burkett

Funeral services for Carolyn Ann (Wood) Burkett, of Bogata, Texas, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at Miller & Miller Funeral Home Chapel.

Carolyn Ann (Wood) Burkett was born on May 26, 1946, the daughter of George Roy Wood and Janie (Lake) Wood. She passed away from this life on June 1, 2023, in Bogata, Texas, at the age of 77. Carolyn married Rodney Burkett in Paris, Texas, and together they lived a wonderful life. She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Janie Wood; six brothers; five sisters; a son-in-law; two grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Carolyn enjoyed playing games. She especially liked to play farkle and uno. She loved to cook for family gatherings, Easter was her favorite holiday. Carolyn was Meemaw and Momma to everyone, sometimes the entire neighborhood. She loved Elvis and loved to dance and sing. Above all, Carolyn loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Carolyn is survived by her husband, Rodney Burkett; daughters: Angela Moon, Carmen Hodgson, Christie Wright and husband, and Rachel Burkett; stepchildren: Tammy Anderson and Terry Burkett; 10 grandchildren; six great-granchildren, along with a host of other relatives and friends.
